You just tall, that is just about all..
Strong show with everybody in the mix.
Brent as i commented the night before..ON FIRE!
The set list is a little outside the norm.
With both Truckin and OMSN in the 1st set.
and of course Jerry with the BIG BOSS.
Good ,anytime you can get a 2nd set China>Rider opener
We Can Run.. a little bit of a stretch for a 2nd set tune
Yeah Healy does space the ESTIMATED
The jam is pretty extended that finally lands a China Doll
Not everyday they played that out of space, for sure!
They were in a good place music wise -Summer of 90.

Decided to give this one a second chance
Rented the DVD
ltgtr - nothing special
truckin- long beautiful jam Before it's usual psition at the end. Song was cut short of the traditional post 'get back truckin on' jam.
Touch- not my favorite song but ok I guess
fotd- nice
Cassidy- the strobe effect was on the video so they must have been jammin, right? .... But it was a above average version from the era in which I think the song holds nicely.
China- this is the highlight of the show for me, long extended, extemporaneous band jam. Any one that says the band didn't jam post 74 needs to step up and listen. 87-90 had some spectacular music making.
rider- a few philbombs but pretty standard
estimated- not my favorite song but they usually cranked it and conveyed some power and group magic. There is tons if room at the end for extended jamming. ( and gettin spit on by Bobby). This one is standard
terrapin-this one showcases the drummers doing runs all over the f-ing place building and building the steam. Kinda a weird Jerry midi moments before the usual position of his main jam, which never materializes. Jerry let's go for a while micky is on the big Japanese style drums. I am not the biggest midi fan. Terrapin was a real treat to see live back in the day, it had that big quality of maybe a m. dew that just made you remember it for days n days after.
drumz/space
china doll-
sugar mags- phil turns up and saves the day after some slop
------
the DVD filler 10-3-87 is tight
I just love hey pockey way

Big Boss Man....
what a great triple opener with, Let the Good Times Roll>Truckin`>Touch of Grey...and speaking of openers, the China>Rider that lets loose the 2nd set is pretty sweet!...the only not so good news about this night, was that this was the last time Jerry graced us with Big Boss Man.

Jam-filled 2nd set
The 2nd set is mostly jams
with.a little drums thrown in. Interesting summer 90 show. I loved this tour, it was lots of fun. A great Estimated, with Healy getting pretty crazy with the Bobby vocals. It must have been a trip to attend this show. Solid 1st and 2nd sets. This is a recommended download to add to your summer '90 collection.

Great Late Brent show
interesting set list, high energy, and most importantly, despite Brent being obviously affected by the downfall of his addictions, he comes through vocally and musically better than most summer tour 90' shows I have heard.
LTGTR>Truckin' opener sets up the show as a "not messing around" sort of nite. Big Boss Man is a nice rarity, and Mama Tried is appreciated as opposed to the more likely Me and My Uncle option.
Second set comes through strongest with Brent's silly but passionate, We Can Run, But We Can't Hide. Also the ocapella verse at the end is so cheasily brilliant. Kudos to whoever said Bobby's Estimated freakout was insane. Great vocalizations and use of effects in and EFFECTIVE, but not OVERBEARING way. And any show that sports a China Doll out of space is a rare treat. Baby Blue is the cherry on top.
A sad show retrospectivly considering that it might be one of the later fine moments of the best lineup of the Dead that ever existed. We all miss you Brent, it wouldn't have been the same without you.

Estimated
I go through phases with this tune. This is a great show easily had (the Truckin' could have been played a little faster)although I think it may be running a bit slow.
But the Bobby freak out at the end of the Estimated is definitely up there in the top ten Bobby freak outs. It just goes on and on.

You want it on DVD???
Grateful Dead Merchandise sells the DVD of this particular Shoreline show if you were not aware of this. View From the Vault # 3. Great, solid show. The Bonus footage/music from Shoreline on October 3, 1987 is the best part of the DVD, though....smokin'!!! Get it, kids!!

Last of the Brent Shows for me
This was one of the last Brent shows I was at & didn't know it....I remember thinking at the time how lucky we all were being alive at that moment in history....looking back tho I barely remember much about the show....other than how good it felt to be there.

We can keep this a secret for a little bit, but there should be a list of really good audience recordings like this.

Let's keep this one a secret
Don't let it out...very very good audience recording. This is better than 99% of all audience *and* soundboard recordings on this site. And I know why. Grab this one regardless of how good or bad this is before the secret gets out!

Fantastic summer of 90 show
This is as crispy as they come- band was in top form as they extended their 89 comeback into 90. The china Rider is outstanding- with many jerry midi effects and bobby doing great counterpoint- instrument separation right on target- one of the best-um- audience tapes I have ever heard
Added: Is this not the best Chin-Rider of the 90's? Wow
